Stand- Pt. 2

It’s great to be talking with all my friends at Create. For those who don’t know me, I played football for the Dallas Cowboys for a while before God brought me into the ministry of building His Kingdom. I also am an old friend of Pastor Ryan and serve everyone of you as an overseer for Create.

Often I have said, “only Jesus could have done this thing or that thing.” Yet the more I learn of God’s ways, I realize Yeshua has made a way for all of us to imitate Him.

It is our weak faith in a perverse culture that betrays us.

We must trust God. It’s not a battle against Satan— rather it is a battle for full submission to the authority and power of God.

We must desire Him.

In Matthew, we see a glimpse of what Yeshua means:

Matthew 17:14-21 CSB

When they reached the crowd, a man approached and knelt down before him. “Lord,” he said, “have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire and often into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.” Jesus replied, “You unbelieving and perverse generation, how long will I be with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring him here to me.” Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and from that moment the boy was healed. Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” “Because of your little faith,” he told them. “For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

With that in mind here are several key talking points I want to share with you:

1. Trust in God

Every believer faces the reality that we can’t do things on our own. Having a humble heart breeds the trust needed to fight back against a world led by the enemies of the cross. By beginning to trust, we allow His work in our lives and believe He will guide us to be precisely where we need to be.

2. Stand firm in God’s promise

God has promised us many things, including peace, prosperity, and righteousness. It is up to you to stand firm in these promises. Be confident! He will deliver on them.

3. Build your faith in God

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. You should learn to speak God’s language by studying the Scripture to learn about both His character and vioce.

4. Ask God to mold your heart

We should ask God to mold our hearts to be more like His. Psalm 24:3-6 says, “Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not appealed to what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully. He will receive blessing (peace and prosperity) from the LORD, and righteousness (justice) from the God of his salvation. Such is the generation of those who inquire of him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah.

5. Get close to Him until you think like He thinks.

Some things are not “taught,” but can only be “caught.” Experience is a great teacher, and there are certain things about Jesus that can only be acquired by a faithful, lifelong journey.

By putting into practice these six steps, your faith will grow and grow and grow. And it will be you faith in God that will produce great miracles.
