Children’s Ministry Director
About Create Church:
Create Church exists to help people find and fulfill their created purpose. Our Create Kids ministry is a vibrant, Jesus-centered environment where children are equipped to know God, love others, and discover their purpose. We’re looking for a passionate, organized, and spiritually mature Children’s Director to lead our Create Kids team and partner with families in raising the next generation of faith-filled leaders.
Position Overview:
The Children’s Director will provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for Create Kids (birth through 5th grade). This role combines spiritual leadership, team development, project management, and administrative excellence to create a safe, fun, and impactful environment for kids and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership & Team Development
Model a strong walk with God through prayer, humility, and leadership
Teach kids how to read their bible and grow their faith.
Lead devotionals, send encouragement, and host weekly prayer huddles
Mentor and develop team leaders through 1:1s and group studies
Equip volunteers with spiritual growth tools and classroom coaching
Create and cultivate an atmosphere where kids and volunteers can develop a
great relationship with God.
Manage paid children’s ministry workers and volunteers
Program Review
Evaluate curriculum, projects, and events quarterly for effectiveness and impact
Collect family/volunteer feedback and align programs with the church’s mission
Collaborate with pastoral leadership before launching new initiatives
Develop bible-based curriculum that’s aligned with the mission and vision of
Create Church and Pastors.
Plan and execute community events throughout the year, including, but not
limited to: VBS, Christmas Production…
Community, Family & Volunteer Care
Stay connected with new families, volunteers, and those needing follow-up
Link families to small groups, prayer, pastoral care, or resources
Provide on-call support for Sunday emergencies and midweek family needs
Shepherd volunteers and kids parents.
Collaboration: Working with church leadership and other ministry staff to align
goals and integrate childrens ministry with the broader church community.
Communication & Administration
Respond to parent, volunteer, and staff emails within 24–48 hours
Maintain the Create Kids inbox and utilize templates for efficient responses
Track and follow up on projects using Google Docs/Basecamp
Troubleshoot and resolve weekly check-in and attendance issues
Facilities & Classroom Oversight
Conduct quarterly deep cleans and maintain classroom order
Monitor classroom needs, broken equipment, or supply restocks
Communicate facilities issues to the appropriate team leads
Safety and Security: Ensuring a safe and secure environment for children,
adhering to child safety policies.
What We’re Looking For:
A mature, committed follower of Jesus Christ
Proven leadership experience in children’s or family ministry
Strong administrative and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects with detail and follow-through
Relational, encouraging, and committed to developing leaders
Comfortable with technology (Google Workspace, Basecamp, church databases)
A leader and a team player that can work in unity with the rest of the staff and
church volunteers.
Work in the office Monday through Thursday 9:30am to 5pm, Sundays 8am to 2pm. Attend all church events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading in a church of 500+
Background in education or early childhood development
Familiarity with curriculum planning and volunteer pipelines
Willingness to grow within a dynamic and creative church culture
