31 Days of Wisdom and Worship – Day 20 – Pastor Ryan Binkley

“The Lord’s light penetrates the human spirit, exposing every hidden motive.”
Proverbs 20:27 NLT
Wisdom
Will you put your heart up to the Lord as light and allow Him to examine your life through and through? It is interesting that this passage doesn’t say that self examination penetrates our spirt. Judging yourself rightly is important and if done properly will keep you from being judged. It also doesn’t say that someone else’s judgment or examination will get to our spirit as well. Proverbs is full of statements of how important it is to have Godly counsel for wisdom, but friends cannot see inside every hidden aspect of your heart like the Lord can. Many times I don’t see my own life the way I should so I need to keep asking the Lord to shine His light in my heart so I can see as I should. In worship at times, I have been able to draw closer to the Lord and just picture myself in front of Him. It is from this perspective, looking into His eyes, that He shows us truth that we couldn’t hear or see before. When we get in front of our Savior, Judge, and Lord, we can see clearer and we can hear His heart. He is usually not judging but He will convey to us truth in His love. You can ask the Lord anything you want when you get to this place. Get alone with God today and ask Him to shine His light on your spirit. Ask the Lord to expose every hidden motive which needs to be changed. Ask if there is anything in your life, heart, or actions that needs to be refined. In Revelation 3, the Lord said to the Laodicean church to “buy from Me gold refined in the fire”. What He is saying is come to Me, come to the Master and Lord of our lives and allow His refining, His purifying, and His everlasting love to surround us. He will gently touch and heal any area of your life that needs His grace. May we all draw closer today to the Lord and allow His light to surround us and heal us.
Worship
“As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him?”
Psalms 42:1-2 NLT
Father, I come to you this morning, longing to be with you. My heart thirsts for you, my living God and Savior, as a dear longs for streams of water. My prayer is that You would bring me closer to You today, Oh Lord, Help me draw near. Help me hear Your voice and may Your spirit guide me into Your way of truth. I desire to know Your ways and that my life would reflect your love and glory. Reveal to me anything that I need to see so that I can know You more. I love you Lord. May Your will and desire be accomplished in my heart. Amen.
